Help & FAQ
Booking, paying, insurance, delivery and life on the road, in plain English. If your question isn’t here, ask us and a real person will reply.
01 Booking & eligibility
What do I need to rent a car?
A full driving licence held for at least two years and a credit card in the driver’s name.
How old do I need to be?
Every driver must be at least 25 on the pick-up date, hold a current, unrestricted licence that’s valid in Queensland, and not have had a licence suspended or cancelled in the past five years.
How does booking work?
Choose a car and your dates, add your details, then read and sign the rental agreement online. It takes about five minutes. No payment is taken then: we confirm the car is free, then arrange payment and the bond. A signed copy of the agreement is emailed to you.
Can someone else drive?
Yes. Add an additional driver for $20 a day when you book. They need to meet the same age and licence rules and be named on the agreement. Nobody else may drive the car.
How far ahead can I book, and for how long?
You can book from today onwards, for anything from one day to 90 days. For longer hires, get in touch and we’ll work something out.
02 Pricing & payment
How is the price worked out?
Each car has a daily rate. Book three days or more and we take 15% off; 28 days or more and it’s 35% off. Extras are charged per day, and you see the full total before you sign.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes — a refundable hold is placed on your card at handover and released within a few working days of return. The amount depends on the car and is shown before you pay.
When do I pay?
The rental is paid in full before you take the car. Anything that comes up afterwards, such as tolls, fines or a fuel top-up, is charged to the card you gave us.
What extras can I add?
Zero-excess cover ($35 a day), an additional driver ($20 a day) and a child seat ($15 a day). Add them when you book.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Change dates or the car any time before delivery. Cancel more than 48 hours before pick-up for a full refund.
03 Insurance & damage
Is insurance included?
Yes, every hire includes comprehensive cover. If the car is damaged you pay the excess shown on your agreement, or add zero-excess cover for $35 a day to take that to nothing.
What isn’t covered?
Damage from drink or drug driving, driving through floodwater, underbody or roof damage, off-road use, or a driver who isn’t named on the agreement. In those cases the driver is liable for the full cost.
What do I do after an accident or breakdown?
Stop driving, make sure everyone is safe and call us straight away, any hour. Please don’t arrange repairs yourself; we’ll sort out recovery and what happens next.
Who pays for tolls and fines?
You do, for anything during your hire. We pass them on at cost, plus a small admin fee for each one we have to process.
04 Delivery & return
Where can you deliver the car?
To your home, hotel or office, airport arrivals, or our city-centre lounge. Delivery and collection within the city are included. We can collect from a different address to the one we delivered to.
What times can you hand over?
Any half hour, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, for both delivery and collection.
What happens at handover?
We bring the car to you, walk around it together to note its condition, check your licence and hand over the keys. It takes about five minutes.
What fuel policy do you use?
Every car is delivered with a full tank. Return it full and there’s nothing extra to pay.
What if I’m running late to return it?
Message us before your return time and we’ll extend if the car is free. Late returns we haven’t agreed to are charged by the hour until the car is back.
05 On the road
What happens if I go over the mileage allowance?
You get 300 km a day, added up across the hire. Extra kilometres are billed at a per-km rate listed on each car’s booking page. You can also add extra mileage in advance at a lower rate.
Where can I take the car?
Anywhere on sealed roads. Off-road driving, unsealed roads, beaches, towing and any kind of motorsport aren’t allowed.
Can I use the car for ride-share or deliveries?
Not without our written approval. Ride-share, food delivery and courier work aren’t allowed under the standard agreement.
Can I smoke or bring a pet?
No smoking or vaping in the car, ever. Pets need our written OK before pick-up. Either one means a sanitisation fee.
Are the cars tracked?
Yes. Every car has GPS tracking for security, as set out in the rental agreement.
Send us a message about a car, a date or a delivery address. A real person replies, usually within the hour.
